There are many ways to support the mission of changing children's lives for the better, forever.
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you'll ever do. Not to mention one of the most fulfilling. You can help shape a child's future for the better by empowering him or her to become the best version of him/herself. And the best part is, it's actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.
Best of all, you know that by being a Big, you're helping a child stay safe. We independently train Bigs, Littles, and families about how to grow in safety skills and enjoy healthy, safe relationships built on lasting life skills. We regularly check in with all parties to ensure safety protocols are being followed.
Bigs are adults who help mentor and guide their Little. Once your application has been processed, you will go through an interview so we can know you better; doing this allows us to match you with a Little who has common interests, creating strong long-term matches. You must be 18+ to apply and have access to reliable transportation. Bigs are required to meet with their Little 6 hours a month and must commit to the program for a minimum of 12 months.
Big Couples can be married spouses, long-term committed partners, or even good friends! The more the merrier! Mentoring as a Big Couple can also be a great way to share responsibility if, for instance, one-half of the Big Couple has a busy work week. Each member of the “Couple” will need to inquire and go through an individual application and interview process. Please let us know that you are interested in mentoring as a Big Couple when you receive our initial email.
Dozens of boys are ready and waiting for Big Brothers right now... about double the number of girls waiting for a Big Sister. Making a recurring or one-time donation is a powerful way to help these children. Your gift helps match a child with an adult mentor, and provide ongoing professional support to help their friendship become as impactful and enduring as possible. The gift you make today leads to successful outcomes for that child, and grows over time to enrich an entire community.
